When marketers run for president

What is like to run for president? Who knows! But one thing is for sure: you’ve got to appeal to as many people as possible, if you want to have real chances of winning.
If you’re doing marketing for a presidential campaign, great. But if you are not, why would you want to appeal to everybody?
Your product is not for everybody. Especially if you’re a startup launching a new one. So stop trying to please everybody.
Forget about becoming mainstream. Instead, focus on early adopters who know they have a problem and, if possible, are actively seeking for a solution.
How do you know when you get to those people? Because they won’t ignore you. They’ll be amazed to know you can solve their problem. (You’ve got to actually solve their problem though.)
You don’t have to please everybody. You can declare victory with just a small group of people.
