Ignore virgins

Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking for a product and market, or a freelance trying to find clients, before you do anything there’s something you need to know:
Selling something to virgins is a lot more difficult.
I don’t say it’s impossible, but you need to be really clear about this, otherwise you’d end up having an uphill battle.
Think about the group of people you’re trying to sell something: have they ever spent cash money to buy the thing you’re selling (or something like it)?
If they have, you’re good to go. If they haven’t, you’re in trouble. So you’re better off going back and find another group that are likely to pay for it.
PS. Obviously, this is different when you’re entering into a new market. And that’s one of the challenges of new markets, yes, there are no competitors… nor existing customers.
