The myth of overnight success

It’s just that… a myth.
In today’s age everybody seems to be looking for shortcuts, hacks, trying to hustle their way up. And that’s foolish. I don’t think there’s any success worth talking about that happened overnight.
It took Einstein nine years before he developed his theory about the velocity of light.
Or consider Edison and the vast amount of prototypes he created:

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” —Thomas A. Edison

With every success comes a long list of failures: Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Howard Hughes, Peter Diamandis, Scott Adams…
The funny thing though is that people might say that only geniuses can pull it off. And despite many of them are very smart, their successes are the result of long slogs and relentless practice.
It doesn’t happen overnight.
