There's no rescue boat

Recently I watched a movie called Captain Phillips  where a group of Somali pirates take over a Maersk containership, climbing aboard and taking everyone hostage. They are in the middle of the ocean and, of course, the US government gets involved and do everything is in their hands to rescue them.
Well, if you haven’t watched the movie I don’t want to give away any spoiler, but in the end the rescue boat comes and everybody goes home well and safe (sorry!)
The interesting thing about this is that you might be living a situation where you’re in the middle of the ocean, awaiting for the rescue team to come. Alas, I have bad news for you: No one is coming to save you.
There’s no rescue boat. That big client won’t come. The money you urgently need won’t come either. And that thing you’re awaiting to happen won’t happen.
Nobody is coming. So, what are you going to do?
The good news is that you can roll your sleeves and survive.
Once you realize there’s no rescue boat coming and, nevertheless, you don’t need one, then you’d know that the only way to make something happen is to pick yourself.
You’re your own rescue boat. You have to pick yourself and make it happen, because nobody else will.
You can complain all day long, and keep busy doing that 24/7 without moving the needle. Or you can take the leap and say I’m the only one who can do this. I’m in the middle of the ocean, but I’m my own rescue boat.
