When thinking about new projects/businesses to launch, it’s common to come with ideas that are related with hardware. Something physical to build. In the end is the easy choice.
Those are the first ideas that comes to our minds, but we need to keep digging.
Last week I read a really interest post from Seth Godin called Hardware Is Sexy, But It’s Software That Matters, where I found this:
Software can change faster than hardware, which means that in changing markets, bet on software.
Hardware always gets cheaper. If you can’t win that race, don’t run it.
Software can create connection, and connection is the engine of our future economy.
If you’re about starting a business with hardware as a core, you will struggle.
Don’t fall in the trap of the first ideas. Keep these points in mind and dive harder.
It would worth the time.
